Valley Designs embarked on a kitchen remodel project for a client in Park City, focused on transforming the space with a sophisticated, earthy material. The client selected Raw Silk granite, also known as Meteor Shower or Aspen, for their countertops. This choice was driven by the stone's distinctive aesthetic: a blend of black and brown hues accented by striking white veins, offering a three-dimensional appearance unique among granites.
The stone itself, quarried from a bedrock source in Brazil, was cut to specifically highlight this unique visual depth. The design team opted for a 2cm flat eased edge to maintain a clean, modern look that would complement the dynamic pattern of the stone. This project centered on integrating a material that is both durable and a natural work of art, ultimately delivering a refreshed kitchen with a strong, character-filled centerpiece.
