Valley Designs undertook a stunning kitchen remodel for Weedon Ranch by Phillips Homes in Park City. The homeowners desired a modernized mountain kitchen, and the choice of Mont Blanc quartzite countertops and a complementary splash was central to achieving this vision. This selection brought a bright, elegant aesthetic, with the white material featuring sophisticated black and grey veining.
A key design element in this project was the innovative use of a cap or ledge shelf. This decorative touch was skillfully integrated to finish off the splash areas, adding both visual interest and a refined detail to the overall kitchen design. The Mont Blanc quartzite not only elevated the kitchen's look but also provided a durable and luxurious surface that perfectly matched the contemporary mountain aesthetic the client desired.

Yes. Quartzite is one of the hardest natural stones available, ranking around 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. It resists scratching, heat, and daily wear, making it an excellent choice for kitchens and other high-traffic areas. When sealed properly, it’s also resistant to moisture and staining, giving homeowners both beauty and long-term performance.
Quartzite is easy to maintain with regular care. Clean daily with warm water and a mild dish soap using a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, which can dull the finish over time. Depending on usage and the type of quartzite, resealing may be recommended to maintain its resistance to stains and enhance its natural luster.
Quartzite forms naturally when sandstone is transformed by intense heat and pressure, resulting in a harder and denser surface than marble. It often features the soft veining seen in marble but provides the durability and heat resistance closer to granite. This combination makes quartzite a popular choice for homeowners who want a luxurious look with outstanding strength and longevity.
